Batangtoru Hydropower Project Hosts Ramadan Safari and World Water Day Commemoration

TAPSEL – PT North Sumatra Hydro Energy (PT NSHE), the company owning the Batangtoru Hydropower Project, held a Ramadan Safari and World Water Day commemoration event on the grounds of SMK Negeri 1 Marancar, Marancar District, on Thursday (March 21, 2024).

The event aimed not only to celebrate the sacred values ​​of Ramadan but also to draw attention to an increasingly urgent global issue: the sustainability of water resources.
“In a spirit of togetherness, the Batangtoru Hydropower Project took the initiative to combine these activities by assisting orphans living near the project area and educating the public on the importance of environmental conservation, particularly regarding water,” said Dedy, Social and Communications Manager at PT NSHE, in a press release on Friday (March 22, 2024).

He explained that the “Batangtoru Hydropower Project 510 MW Shares” initiative is a tangible manifestation of the project’s commitment to making a positive contribution to the surrounding community and the environment. “We believe that by working together, we can create a significant positive impact.”

The event, held at the SMK Negeri 1 Sipirok grounds, featured various activities, including the distribution of aid to orphans, a talk on the importance of environmental conservation, and social and educational activities aligned with the themes of the Ramadan Safari and World Water Day.

Activities like this not only benefit the local community but also serve as a concrete example of a sustainable partnership between the company and the local community.
