POSMETROMEDAN.COM — PT North Sumatra Hydro Energy (NSHE), the company managing the development of the Batang Toru Hydropower Plant (PLTA), is contributing to efforts to improve teachers’ computer skills in South Tapanuli (Tapanuli Selatan) Regency.

The initiative reflects PT NSHE’s commitment to supporting education and contributing to educational development in the region.

As the digital era continues to evolve, technological proficiency has become increasingly important in education. Recognizing this, PT NSHE considers improving teachers’ computer skills a crucial step in preparing younger generations in South Tapanuli to face future technological challenges.

To support this objective, PT NSHE collaborated with SMP Negeri 8 Sipirok to organize a computer training program for teachers. The program consisted of intensive training covering basic computer knowledge, hardware and software operation, as well as relevant educational applications. The training was held over six days, from July 3 to 8, 2023.

Through this initiative, the company hopes to help reduce the technology gap and ensure that teachers and students have equal opportunities to access computer-based educational knowledge and resources.

“We fully recognize the importance of technological proficiency in modern education. Through this initiative, we want to ensure that teachers in South Tapanuli have the knowledge and skills needed to operate computers. We are committed to supporting education and strengthening technological infrastructure in the region,” said Arie Dedy, Social and Communications Manager of PT NSHE.

Arnida Siregar, the program coordinator from NSHE’s Social and Communications Division, explained that the program was implemented through a tripartite collaboration, with PT NSHE serving as the activity coordinator, SMP Negeri 8 Sipirok as the participating institution, and SL Komputer Padangsidimpuan providing the trainers.

PT NSHE emphasized that through this initiative, the company hopes to significantly improve teachers’ ability to operate computers and utilize technology in the learning process. The initiative is expected to provide long-term benefits for education in South Tapanuli and help prepare students to succeed in the digital era.

“Through this initiative, PT NSHE reaffirms its commitment to supporting educational development and making a positive contribution to the communities and regions where the company operates,” she concluded.
